Reading the Quran with English translation
Find a surah, adjust the text, and keep a place for your next visit with the Arabic and English reader.
Find the passage you want to read
The Quran library lists all 114 surahs in Quran order. Each entry shows its Arabic name, transliterated name, chapter number, and number of ayahs. Search with an Arabic name, a transliterated name, or a chapter number. Common spelling variants for names such as Al-Fatiha and Yaseen are also supported.
Open a surah to see the complete chapter. Each ayah has a reference such as 1:2: the first number is the surah, and the second is the ayah. Use the Ayah selector and Go button to move directly to a passage.
Read the Arabic alongside the meaning
The library displays Uthmani Arabic text and the Sahih International English translation from the project's Al Quran Cloud dataset. The Arabic text is shown from right to left; the English translation appears beneath each ayah.
An English translation is a rendering of meaning. It is not a replacement for the Arabic Quran, and this reader does not provide scholarly commentary or religious rulings. For deeper study, consult a qualified teacher and a trusted tafsir.
Choose a reading view
Use Text size to make the Arabic larger or smaller. The English checkbox lets you hide the translation when you want to focus on the Arabic. The theme button in the site header switches between light and dark appearances.
Switch to Page view to read with the dataset's 604-page divisions. Use the page number field to navigate, or open Pages and Juz from the library. Text wraps to your screen; page view is not a scan of a printed Mushaf. It has font, size, English translation, and Save page controls.
Save a place or share a link
Choose an ayah in the toolbar and select Save ayah. The Quran library will show a Continue reading link on your next visit in the same browser. Saving another ayah or page replaces that place. Browser storage must be available, and clearing site data will remove it.
Share ayah opens your device's sharing options when available, or copies a link to the selected verse. You can also use the numbered reference beside an ayah to open its direct link. A recipient can read the passage without creating an account.
